Nothing can be more chilling to a parent than the thought of an abductor taking your child.   Knowledge is your best tool to fight this type of threat.  I strongly suggest role playing with your children as to what they would do in the event of a potential threat.   These role plays should be done often to ensure that your child will be able to remember what to do in the event of a would be abduction.  Here are some of the role plays that we create in our EZ Defense for Children Seminars.  These are 10 common ploys an abductor will use to lure a child away.  For more info on our EZ Defense for Children program, please click on the link on the home page.

	Gift Giving:  The abductor offers the child a toy or candy.
	Friendly:  The abductor is very nice and uses this ploy to get close to your child.
	Playing Games:  The abductor plays a game or invents one to fool him or get the child's attention.
	Acting Helpless:  The abductor pretends to be lost/ hurt/ or need assistance
	Being the Leader:  The abductor says, "Follow me so we can play a game."
	Posing as a magician:  The abductor does magic tricks to attract the child.
	Playing the messenger:  The abductor tells the child his mother or father sent him/her to pick them up.
	Making promises:  The abductor promises to take the child someplace...such as an amusement park.
	Being "cool":  The abductor tries to impress the child.
	Commanding:  The abductor "order's" the child (I'm the ADULT, you listen to me!).

TIP: Notice in all of these instances I stated "abductor", not stranger.  Please be careful to do the same with your child. Statistics show that most abductions are by someone that you or your child ALREADY know.  It could be a relative, a co worker, a friend, or a neighbor.
